"TELEPHONE" BY TAUBA AUERBACH, 2001

Rougarouing means "dangerous carousing." This was shot over the course of 6 very drunk hours in Eunice, LA. Sometimes things just fall into place.

Winner, Best Short, Ashland Film Festival, 2012

The first ever comissioned short film for Field of Vision, a project that kept us in Arkansas long enough for us to make a feature, "The Gospel of Eureka."

World Premiere, NYFF

Screened also in Sundance shorts competition

Donal and I ran a series of camera tests before I filmed Sharon Van Etten's "Taking Chances" video.  We decided to pull out all the Chris Marker stops on our test material and made our first 'foreign' film.

Made for the Montreal RIDM

This takes me all the way back to the beginning of my collaboration with Donal, the very first thing we ever shot together. A wonderful few days with Jean Ritchie in 2006, who sadly passed in 2015. We decided to honor her with the film that we never made by making this memorial for her.

Bill and Turner Ross invited me to help them shoot this amazing concert film, with the crazy talented Jarred Alterman and a host of other documentary cinematographers. Two weeks of bliss.

I shot the miniatures for this lovely film directed by James Q. Chan. Then James talked me into editing it. Everything about this film is as delicate as the miniatures Frank Wong creates.

International premiere, Camerimage, Poland

Always honored to edit for the great Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman of Telling Pictures

World Premiere, Sundance

Int'l Premiere, Cannes

We were all living in San Francisco then. The crazy talented Tauba Auerbach kindly asked me to shoot this for her. Words fail in me trying to describe how much I love this film.
